Im Auftrag für das Theater und Philharmonie Essen Magazin habe ich eine Reportage fotografiert, die einen seltenen Blick hinter die Kulissen der Werkstätten offenbart: In die Welt der Bühnenbauerinnen, Malerinnen, Metallbauerinnen und Kostümbildnerinnen – jener Menschen also, deren Handwerk die Magie des Theaters erst möglich macht.

Elisa has been with the team since 2009. She specializes in creating patinas and material imitations and is constantly experimenting with new textures and techniques.

Marlene ist, wie schon ihre Mutter, Theatermalerin. Sie ist hinter der Bühne aufgewachsen und tief verwurzelt in der Welt des Theaters – auf und neben der Bühne.

Thomas has worked in the workshops since 1988. Known for his inventiveness, he creates practical tools for the team—such as a magnet wand to collect staples in the painting hall.

Thomas arbeitet seit 1988 in den Werkstätten. Er ist bekannt für seine Erfindungsgabe und entwickelt praktische Werkzeuge für das Team – etwa einen Magnetstab, mit dem sich Klammern im Malersaal einsammeln lassen.

Elisa has been with the team since 2009. She specializes in creating patinas and material imitations and is constantly experimenting with new textures and techniques.

Elisa ist seit 2009 dabei. Die gelernte Theatermalerin liebt es, Patina und Materialimitationen zu erstellen und arbeitet immer wieder an neuen Techniken und Materialmixen.

Simon is new to the team and currently in his first season. He’s learning traditional woodworking techniques and is working on a support frame for a stage set.

Simon ist neu im Team und derzeit in seiner ersten Spielzeit. Er lernt traditionelle Holzverarbeitungstechniken und arbeitet an einem Tragrahmen für ein Bühnenbild.
